Advertisements about cleaning supplies and services can be seen in the web and in yellow pages of local telephone directories. These services are usually acquired by people who have very tight schedules that they no longer have time to clean their own homes, and by big companies for their offices. People who plan parties also hire people for cleaning services to help clean-up the after-party mess.
The cleaning services can be hired for specific duties or to clean the whole building or house. Some examples of specific tasks may include cleaning the carpet, polishing the floors, waxing, washing the windows or cleaning the walls only. These cleaning services can be provided either by a group of people or an individual. Individual type of cleaning services consists of one person, applying as a cleaner; this is usually common for home cleaning. However for large areas such as offices, a group of cleaners is necessary to clean the whole area easily. When only light cleaning is required such as dusting or sweeping the floors, only two to three cleaners should be hired however, if heavy cleaning is to be done such as the cleaning of big carpets, furniture and windows, a group of three to five people is needed.
In cleaning houses, a maid or a cleaner should be hired once or twice a week. These people are responsible in making the house clean especially if the owner of the home cannot do it themselves. Keeping the house clean also provides safety for all the people living in it. For house parties, a group of cleaners are needed for thorough cleaning.
Some precautions that must be kept in mind when hiring such services are as follows:
First, before paying the cleaner or signing anything, it is a must to check if the service has a license for business . Referrals from friends and trusted people should be welcomed when looking for people to be hired. Local listings can also be checked to know who are recommended in the community. Second, the service must have insurance in case of accidents or loss of things at home. Third, knowing if they are to bring their cleaning materials is also an important consideration. The cleaning materials, in case they are not your own, should be checked if they are environment friendly and if they would not cause damage to any of your belongings. Next, all your personal belongings and documents which are valuable, important or expensive which may be lost or taken should be properly kept and locked in a safety cabinet if possible. Rooms that you do not wish to be entered should also be locked. Lastly, leaving the cleaners a list of things that they should do and should not do would help so they would not forget anything. This would also prevent misunderstandings and thus give you full satisfaction from their work.
