Business Plan For Commercial Cleaning

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

Many online services offer templates for one to make a business plan and even promise its success. But making a business plan is not that easy. Drafting a business plan for one’s cleaning services takes a little time and effort on one’s part. There are some aspects of the business plan that needs consideration and here are some of the guideposts one needs to consider in making the right business plan for one’s business.

1) Feasibility and benefits. Making that big leap into the commercial cleaning business from a home cleaning or office cleaning business is no mean feat. The plan one must have must be achievable and the current situation allows for flexibility and adaptability. Also, the clients must be fully appraised on the changes in order that one is still able to provide the benefits originally contracted for. The ability to be engaged for long term clients and business relationships is key in commercial cleaning enterprises. This is what defines the commercial aspect of the business, long term results oriented contracts of service for an extended period of time.

2) Legalities. One has to learn the legal terms used in commercial contracts to be able to be adept at it. Terms such as contract length, case of default, penalty clauses and terms and conditions are new terms needed to be able to clarify the engagement sought to enter into. Having a template contract would help in explaining to clients the terms and conditions agreeable to one’s services. Frequently asked is how can one create a contract and how can one negotiate on its terms. These are but aspects for consideration in the cleaning business going commercial. The contractual terms and conditions amenable and acceptable to one’s business is half the issue, the other half is letting others agree to one’s terms and conditions as against other cleaning services. One way to find out is by identifying potential clients for one’s business plan and with this one needs to find a marketing strategy to convince them that the services one offers is better than others. This approach needs to be included in the business plan as it forms part of the over all plan for the business.

3) Approaching business. How one maps out the marketing strategy determines a great aspect of the future of the business. Will the campaign be solely referrals or use of tri media advertising, which is print radio and television? Making a projection on these aspects of the business makes one a visionary in business rather than a reactionary. This also provides an insight on the future of the business. This is why there is a need for flexibility in one’s business plan. Setting goals for the company would later become crown jewels of achievement in the future.

So as one can see, making a business plan cannot be relied on the templates some others provide online. It involves research, education and forward thinking. Finding out the market makes one prepared. Education one on the terms of the business makes one able to compete. Forward thinking allows the business to achieve and even surpass its set objectives.
